BWGA is a professional organization that supports writers of various literary backgrounds. We are an organization that provides advocacy, education and support for writers in a very competitive industry.

BWGA was established as a network of over 500 creative literary professionals nationwide. With our diverse background and extraordinary pool of talent, we are raising the standard for artistic excellence and quality representation.

BWGA goal is to build a consortium of writers, self-published authors, published authors, screenwriters, songwriters, playwrights, journalists and poets. It is a forum for all writers to find their voice through public presentation of their literary works across all genres.

BWGA mission is increase the market share and content for all writers. To acknowledge the literary achievements of African American writers nationwide. Also to provide writers opportunities for advancement.
